Blue Jeans, White Shirt?

pictures 1,2,3 are a DIYed bomber jacket, picture 4 is a pair of DIYed shorts
(both incomplete)

HI
Well, lately the holidays have been a bore so I decided to revive some old pieces from my wardrobe and get them prepped for a new season. Both pieces are in the process of being finished and once they do I will post pictures and a tutorial if anyone is interested.
For me, my favourite is probably the jacket as it definitely took the (life) and effort from me. The shorts are a long way from completion but I'm sure they'll look good when I finish.

Scribble

Today is just one of those days that I don't feel like doing anything, really. But I try to keep incessant whinging about how bored I am (and believe me, I am) to a minimum (for everyone elses' sake, because I'm considerate like that *cough*). So I decided to play around with the effects on the photo editor, and ta-da! I found one which reminds me of those old cartoon style drawings!
The holidays are coming to a close in about two weeks, and it makes me sad that I haven't gotten anything done, but I blame that partly on the Australian Open, which just happens to be airing on the TV. To think I used to hate watching sport...

Dying Mermaid: Aztec Edition

I have always been completely obsessed with mermaids, the enchanting seemingly dark side of the sea has always been the first thing that has come to mind when the word 'mermaid' has come up in a conversation.
So today's post was definitely inspired by a slightly different mermaid, a girl almost.
I found the aztec shorts were somewhat representive of a mermaids tail with the peplumesque frill. The chain armour was involving an aspect of entrapment. The lace top was just a random addition, looking through the piles of clothing in my wardrobe I tried to find a top with a somewhat scaly look. Lace seemed the perfect material to finish such a fun, quirky outfit and of course no outfit is complete without a pair of Doc Martens.
A fun addition would of course be a pair of crazy leggings with a bright colour, pattern or a animal print such as 'snakeskin' but wearing that in 47 degrees celsius would be a form of suicide.

I hope I helped anyone out there lacking some inspiration.

Tropic Thunder

I'm dreaming of a tropical paradise right now. The weather is a complete juxtaposition right now; the skies are grey but still insanely hot. Poised on the brink of a thunderstorm. Something about this weather is strangely pleasant though.
